SfAR-S-line

The S-Series modules have been specifically developed for industrial automation processes to easily and cost-effectively expand inputs and outputs. Thanks to its built-in LEDs, they provide continuous feedback on operating conditions.

 

The built-in mini USB allows you to quickly configure each module without the need for an additional power supply. This configuration can be done using the free SfAR Configurator. Addressing with DIP switches simplifies and speeds up commissioning.

 

The modules are able to communicate on one of the most popular communication protocols, MODBUS ASCII / RTU.  The IP version of the SfAR-S-ETH module can also be used as a transparent MODBUS TCP / MODBUS RTU or ASCII gateway.

Because the modules support the MODBUS protocol, they can be easily applied to both new and existing installations.

For even faster installation, the modules are equipped with SfAR-S-LINK connection, which can be used to connect up to 5 or 10 modules. This provides RS485 communication and power supply between the modules, thus reducing cabling costs.

SfAR-S-line

Temperature inputs (TI)
Each input is capable of 0.1 ° C resolution with support for the following types of sensors:

  • Temperature input supports the following types of sensor elements: PT100, PT500, PT1000, NI100, KTY81-110 (2 and 3-wire) and a wide range of thermocouples: J, K, T, N, S, R, B

Digital inputs (DI)

  • Transistor input, galvanic isolation

  • Can operate in PNP or NPN mode (16DI can handle both modes at the same time)

  • Each DI has a 32-bit fast pulse counter up to 1kHz

  • The first 4 channels allow the connection of 2 encoders (1-2 and 3-4 per pair)

  • FRAM memory for fast pulse counting

Analog outputs (AO)
All outputs have a 12-bit ADC, 16ms / channel processing speed and an accuracy of less than ± 0.5%.

The following output modes are supported:

  • Output 0-10 V DC resolution 1.5 mV

  • Current output: 0-20 mA, resolution 5 μA

  • Current output: 4-20 mA, resolution 16 μA

Digital outputs (DO)

  • Transistor output that switches DC voltage in PNP design only.

  • Galvanic isolation and built-in diode against inductive loads

  • Max. 500mA @ 30 V DC

  • Relay output max. 3 A @ 30 V DC or 3 A @ 250 V AC

  • Watchdog function

Triac outputs (TO)

  • Galvanically isolated triac outputs: 0.5 A @ 24 V AC, 0.5 A @ 230 V AC
